The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority calculated 33 new fee items from March to July 2025 totaling $11,185.55.

During its quarterly public hearing on Tuesday, GMHA said they released the fees for insurance providers and future patients to review and know about what’s been charged in claims and future bills.

These fees are primarily professional fees (20) for chronic and principal care management and services, and the remaining 13 fees are for supplies (12) and medicine (1).

The summary of fees and services was also released for public knowledge and use for any reimbursement requests or oppositions to charges.

“We are letting them know the new fees to be charged on for policies and services and supplies,โ€ said GMHA revenue cycle management director Sydie Taisacan. โ€œThe listing is available on our website at www.gmha.org.transparency-center [under] public hearings.โ€

Each of these purchases were assigned a new charge code for confirmation processing during department requests, when GMHA presents its summary to insurers, and for information purposes during public testimonies.

This ensures all marks are in terms with contract policies and do not infringe on patient benefits or responsibilities.

Residents who wish to submit testimonies related to these fees can do so until Sept. 28. These testimonies will be โ€œincorporated into the submission package to the 38th Guam Legislature, subsequent to approval by the GMH Board of Trustees,โ€ according to GMHA chief financial officer Yuka Hechanova.
