Trisha Goddard supported by fans as she shares health update on cancer diagnosis

TV personality Trisha Goddard has revealed she had “something to celebrate” following recent scans amid her ongoing battle with cancer . The star was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and later received the all-clear. However, in 2024, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer , also known as metastatic or stage four breast cancer. In a candid interview with Hello!, she admitted it was “not going to go away”. The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant underwent a brain scan just before welcoming in the New Year and has now revealed the results in an Instagram health update, reports Wales Online . Sharing photos from the hospital, Trisha wrote: “No better way to see out 2025 than by having a brain scan, eh?” “MRI and CAT scans are a regular part of my treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Along with non-stop blood tests, it’s how my oncology team keep keeps tabs on all those little f***er cancer cells they’re constantly playing ‘Whack-A-Mole’ with! Depending on results, my treatments and medications are constantly changed to outwit them.” She added: “Thank heavens, I got my results about an hour after my scan via a special app on my phone because I can’t imagine having to go into the New Year full of angst waiting for them… and my heart goes out to all of you who are currently having to go through that.” “The good news for me is that I have something to celebrate tonight!” she wrote, accompanying her post with a short video of her dancing joyfully in front of a Christmas tree. The TV favourite took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards the technicians, radiologists, doctors, and staff at her radiology imaging/MRI centre. Her fans were overjoyed by the positive update, flooding the comments section with heart emojis. One follower expressed: “Oh, such wonderful news!!! Happy New Year, Trish!!” Another chimed in: “Happy 2026, Trisha, and many, many more.” A fan shared their joy, commenting: “What a New Year’s present!! Fab news, Trisha. I wish you all the best for 2026. May you make many more beautiful memories.” “Fantastic news,” another of the star’s followers remarked. “Happy New Year, and may 2026 bring you much peace and even more healing.” Trisha’s health update came just days after she celebrated her 68th birthday on December 23. Reflecting on her journey, she told her fans: “When you first hear those words, ‘Your cancer has come back,’ and every time you look at the news, your eye seems to be drawn to the words CANCER and TERMINAL, you think that’s it. “But scientists and the medical world have re-classified metastatic cancer to being a LIFE LIMITING illness, for good reason; New drugs, new treatments, new medical breakthroughs.” For the latest showbiz, TV, movie and streaming news, go to the new Everything Gossip website.
