Trisha Goddard announced she had “something to celebrate” after updating fans on her latest set of scans amid her cancer diagnosis . The TV star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 but was later given the all-clear. However, in 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, also known as metastatic or stage four breast cancer, saying in an interview with Hello! that it was “not going to go away”. The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate underwent a brain scan just before ringing in the New Year, and has now shared the results in a health update on Instagram. Posting snaps from the hospital, Trisha told fans: “No better way to see out 2025 than by having a brain scan, eh? “MRI and CAT scans are a regular part of my treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Along with non-stop blood tests, it’s how my oncology team keep keeps tabs on all those little f***er cancer cells they’re constantly playing ‘Whack-A-Mole’ with! Depending on results, my treatments and medications are constantly changed to outwit them. “Thank heavens, I got my results about an hour after my scan via a special app on my phone because I can’t imagine having to go into the New Year full of angst waiting for them… and my heart goes out to all of you who are currently having to go through that.” “The good news for me is that I have something to celebrate tonight!” she wrote, alongside a brief clip that showed her dancing in front of a Christmas tree. The TV star went on to thank the technicians, radiologists, doctors, and staff at her radiology imaging/MRI centre. Her followers were thrilled to hear the news, with many dropping heart emojis in the comments section. One posted: “Oh, such wonderful news!!! Happy New Year, Trish!!” “Happy 2026, Trisha, and many, many more,” said someone else. Another fan commented: “What a New Year’s present!! Fab news, Trisha. I wish you all the best for 2026. May you make many more beautiful memories.” “Fantastic news,” remarked one of the star’s followers. “Happy New Year, and may 2026 bring you much peace and even more healing.” Trisha’s update came just days after she turned 68. Marking her birthday on December 23, she told her fans: “When you first hear those words, ‘Your cancer has come back,’ and every time you look at the news, your eye seems to be drawn to the words CANCER and TERMINAL, you think that’s it. “But scientists and the medical world have re-classified metastatic cancer to being a LIFE LIMITING illness, for good reason; New drugs, new treatments, new medical breakthroughs.” For the latest showbiz, TV, movie and streaming news, go to the new Everything Gossip website.
