The excavation began a year ago, and the new update covers a period of around six weeks until 15 July this year.
The 22 remains were found in coffins, in an area on the south-western edge on the site, which was identified in historical documents as a “burial ground”.
The bodies are being taken to a new mortuary and laboratory in Toghermore in Tuam.
The facility been fitted out by the agency carrying out the excavation, known as the Office of the Director of Authorised Intervention, Tuam (ODAIT).
The agency said experts would clean, dry and examine the remains “with the goal of reconstructing details of their lives and deaths”, potentially including their age and sex.
The process will include radiology and 3D scanning.
All the 99 sets of remains found so far were buried in coffins.
