New medical campus breaks ground in Greenville County that aims to expand access to health care

POWDERSVILLE โ€” A new medical campus has broken ground in Greenville County.

Construction for the Bon Secours Powdersville Medical Center, located at 104 Roe Road, started on Nov. 21. The center be 40,000 square feet.

It aims to expand access to high-quality health care in the rapidly growing Upstate region, specifically northeastern Anderson County and other surrounding communities.

Matt Caldwell, president of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, emphasized the growth around Powdersville and said the organization is โ€œexcited to meet the healthcare needs of this vibrant community.โ€

โ€œThis is more than just a building. Itโ€™s a promise to our patients that weโ€™re here for them, wherever they are,โ€ Caldwell said in a press release. โ€œWeโ€™re proud to bring the Bon Secours legacy of compassionate, high-quality care to Powdersville.โ€

The campus is expected to open in early 2027. The medical office building will house a variety of primary and specialty care services, including urology, orthopedics, cardiology, primary care and more. It will also feature radiology and lab services.

Modeled after a soon-to-open Bon Secours facility in Five Forks, the emergency department building will include nine exam rooms, X-ray and CT imaging capabilities, and provide 24/7 access to emergency medicine professionals.

โ€œThis new campus reflects our commitment to providing convenient, comprehensive care close to home,โ€ Caldwell said.

Three Upstate organizations awarded grants that combine for $15,000

Ten at the Top, a Greenville-based nonprofit, announced Nov. 19 the three recipients of the 2025 Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Grants, including organizations in Abbeville, Greenville and Pacolet.

Each organization will receive $5,000 to complete a โ€œvibrancy projectโ€ in its community. The nonprofit chose the three organizations from a field of 24 initial applicants and five finalists.
