Big news for Rincon de la Victoria: the Junta de Andalucía has announced an initial €2 million for the construction of a brand-new health centre, with the total investment set to nearly hit €15 million.
Residents can finally look forward to a proper upgrade in healthcare, and it’s about time.
Residents are thrilled: ‘Fantastic news!
Mayor Francisco Salado was all smiles, calling the announcement “fantastic news for all our neighbours.” He explained that the new facility will not just expand medical services but also improve the quality of life for local citizens. “We’ve been pushing for years for a health infrastructure that matches the growth of our town,” he said.
Antonio Sanz, the Andalusian Health, Presidency and Emergencies minister, confirmed in parliament that the contracts for both project management and construction are already being tendered. The municipality has also worked hard on handing over land and handling bureaucratic red tape to speed things up.
What will the new health centre look like?
So, what’s coming? The new centre, set on land in Huerta Julian, will quadruple the size of the current facility. It will feature 44 modern consultation rooms and add essential services like Rehabilitation, Minor Surgery, Dentistry, Basic Radiology, and Mental Health support. Bonus: extra parking will make life a little easier for patients.
The €15 million project has been in the making for years. Back in April 2024, the detailed execution plan was unveiled, and since 2021, the town hall and Junta have been collaborating to make this dream a reality. The local council even held an extraordinary meeting last August, unanimously calling on the Junta to kick off construction immediately.
For locals, this isn’t just bricks and mortar, it’s a promise of better healthcare closer to home and fewer long waits. It will be a facility that reflects the growing needs of Rincon de la Victoria. Construction is set to start soon, and residents can finally look forward to a health centre that’s spacious and modern.
